Michael S. Lewis’ new book, Getting Wiser, is a dazzling anthology of 101 stories, life lessons, and perspectives, collected from brilliant minds the world over. Join the Community for Conscious Aging and Michael Lewis for an opportunity to hear advice and wisdom from the likes of Michael Jordan, Elie Wiesel, Abraham Maslow, and more. Copies of the book will be available for purchase, with 100% of the profit going to benefit the Himalayan Cataract Project, dedicated to combating needless blindness in underserved regions around the world.

Michael S. Lewis, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon and former consultant to the Chicago White Sox professional baseball team, Chicago Wolves professional hockey team, and the Chicago Bulls professional basketball team (with whom he won two championship rings).  He previously served as president of the medical staff at NorthShore University Health System’s Skokie Hospital and received a best teacher award from Rush Medical School.  Dr. Lewis is an award-winning author who has published six books including The Ball’s in Your Court and Getting Wiser.  His photographs have been shown in several galleries and have been published in numerous books and magazines.  An avid tennis player, he has competed successfully in his age bracket.
